Jan Daley Revives Great American Songbook Tunes in New Album

Jack Segal, a classic Great American Songbook composer and one of Jan Daley’s late mentors, had nothing but good things to say about Daley’s smooth jazz music.  Segal described Daley as, “a truly talented musician, singer, and lyricist.”  He’s not the only one- Frank Sinatra was known to have said, “She’s got it!” when speaking of Daley and Louis Armstrong is quoted saying she has a, “big beautiful voice.”  Daley’s classic smooth jazz sound will resonate with all generations of jazz lovers and is absolutely worth checking out.

Jan Daley’s album, “When Sunny Gets Blue,” is a rendition of many Great American Songbook tunes.  The title song was written by the aforementioned Jack Segal.  Segal was one of the key people who encouraged Daley to attempt this smooth jazz album in the first place and it was likely due to his teachings that the album turned out to be so phenomenal.

Outstanding Smooth Jazz from Jan Daley

Jan Daley has recently released some of the most noteworthy jazz of the past decade.  Her new album When Sunny Gets Blue is a phenomenal set of Great American Songbook smooth jazz tunes that Daley clearly has an emotional and personal connection with.

After working closely with the late Jack Segal, the original writer and producer of the album’s title track, Daley inevitably holds a connection with the music that transcends the average album and this is clear throughout the work.  Her smooth jazz vocals are impressive and float atop the lush arrangements.

If you love smooth jazz, you can download her single When Sunny Gets Blue at no cost from Noisetrade here: http://bit.ly/JD-FreeSong.  Also keep up with Jan on Facebook here: https://www.facebook.com/jandaleymusic/ and on her website here: www.jandaley.com/.

New Playlist for the New Year? Jan Daleys Smooth Jazz is Perfect For You

If you’ve spent the last few years wishing Diana Krall would release some more of that good old Smooth Jazz like Glad Rag Doll (2012), then Jan Daley’s new EP is perfect for you. Daley’s When Sunny Gets Blue (2016) is a personal EP that Daley poured heart and soul into and this is extremely apparent while listening.  As two of the premier female voices in Jazz, Daley and Krall must have something that others don’t to create music that is so emotionally engaging while remaining remarkably sophisticated.

Daley’s title track was written and produced by an old friend and mentor; the late Jack Segal. Her vocal technique and mastery of the music are clear and give the tracks a warm friendly tone. Her vocals are, as always, top notch and impressive to even the most seasoned performer. Currently, you can download the single When Sunny Gets Blue FOR FREE from Noisetrade. Don’t miss this limited time offer!

Have a Fantastic 2017!  In the meantime, keep up with Jan on Facebook and on her website.
